Evolution: Post-show Links
Thanks so much to Greg Laden for being out guest. Everyone absolutely should check out this man’s blog, if you aren’t already a rabid follower, here.
And psst… he has a new blog project with some other lovely people. Visit it here.
The links I used for today’s show were:
PBS Evolution FAQ
Talk Origins Creation/Evolution FAQ
“Questions to Ask Your Biology Teacher” from a creationist website
And if you’d like to peruse the University of Alberta’s Darwin Day offerings, go here.
Thanks for listening!
Next Show: Evolution
This week we’ll be speaking with Dr. Greg Laden, scienceblogger and and biological anthropologist, about evolution.
According to a 2007 poll by Angus Reid Strategies, most Canadians accept the theory of evolution.
59 per cent of respondents think human beings evolved from less advanced life forms over millions of years. 22 per cent believe god created human beings in their present form within the last 10,000 years, and 19 per cent aren’t sure.
Whichever percentage you’re a part of, Dr. Laden will be live on air to answer all your questions.
And he went to Harvard, so he knows.
See you Friday at 6pm!
Music to evolve by…
Pharyngula just posted a beautiful ode to Charles Darwin, sung by Chumbawamba. (Which is not a frat boy band and never was; they simply had that one hit song and everyone forgot about their anarchist credentials. Hmph.)
And if you don’t read PZ Myers’ blog on a regular basis… really? Why not?
